Excerpt: "... She (the United States resident) claimed to have been billed the sum of US$15,000.00 (for treating hernia). However, our inquiries there (in Chile) indicated that the alleged attending physician was a plastic surgeon and the insured had undergone aesthetic surgery; namely, liposuction of the trunk/waist and breast implant/augmentation (cirugia plastica/implante de mamas) and the physician did not perform surgery for hernia. The reader should note that the cost of surgery for hernia was recoverable under the travel policy but not the cost for liposuction and breast implant/augmentation." |
